The Southeast Institute on Homelessness & Supportive Housing, sponsored by the Florida Coalition for the Homeless and The Florida Supportive Housing Coalition will be held on September 26-28, at the Hilton Clearwater Beach.

This year the challenge of providing affordable housing options for Florida’s most vulnerable populations has become even greater. The state’s economy has placed increasing numbers of individuals and families at risk of homelessness. In response to the changes of our economy, the Florida Supportive Housing Coalition and the Florida Coalition for the Homeless are motivated to increase the community’s ability to address the critical issues affecting those with extremely low-incomes, experiencing homelessness, and/or special needs. The Institute will highlight best practices that benefit individuals needing supportive housing or experiencing homelessness. The focus is on learning new and innovative ways to collectively assist individuals and families striving to live sustainable lives in the community.

This Institute is designed for people with special needs and their families, supportive housing and homeless service providers, homeless and supportive housing advocates, housing developers and financiers, Florida homeless education liaisons, Florida school administrators, school staff and local and state government officials.
